I am building a 9U, 84HP case with two 3 amp supplies & a filter board designed by my housemate.

I'm looking to grab passive bus boards, but haven't found many reviews of the ones featuring 20 headers. The one review of the Nano board I found complained that small traces lead to greater impedance.

I did have Doepfer's boards in my LC6, but only grabbing 2 might not fully support the full 252hp of modules, hence looking into other options.

Any experience with the two I mentioned, or other recommendations?

Bastl Juice board kits? I run a couple of those and i've been pleased with them.
(They also have +5v regs)

The kit sells for the same as some pre-made bus boards and Modular Addict seems out of them- other than a desire to solder is there a particular reason to grab 'em?

The filter board my housemate built already has optional 5v and power filtration; could your board be built with only the socket headers & LEDs, potentially shorting some things if needed?

I'm pretty sure it could be, easily. Though there's no 5V input blade, so you'd need to jury rig something to connect your filter board's 5V to. Shouldn't be too hard, but it won't look as pretty as something that isn't designed to have a 5V regulator on it.

Yes. This board can use a variety of phoenix connectors, or just wire pads to connect to other boards.
