Buchla Pulse Sequencer

Post by incekt » Wed Jan 29, 2020 1:18 pm

Hello,

I am trying to use my 245r/256r as a pseudo 243v. I would like short pulses to trigger when the sequencer knobs are >50%. Is this possible with using other modules?

Bump!

there has to be a way using existing buchla modules, to recreate the function of a verbos 243 pulse sequencer

The 251e gives you 4 rows of 50 stages of programmable pulses. Pulse length is programmable from a transient spike to a whole note.

I don't have a 256 or 245, but thinking about this- what if you took the voltage output of the 245, fed it into the input of the 256, and added an offset of 5V. Then fed that into the trigger input of a 281... this means that as long as you feed it at least 5v or more, you could get a cleaned up output trigger (or signal) from the 281?

The only issue with this is if your 245 is sending a full 10v, and you add 5v onto it, you're inputting 15v into the 281. Not sure it can handle this?

Wouldn’t Mark still make the 243 if you ordered one? I realize that wasn’t the point here, but I’m curious myself.

It's my understanding that he'll still make stuff if you are willing to pay.

What incekt really needs is a basic utilities module that has a schmitt trigger type pulse generator.
