Easel, Bass & Drums (Soundcloud)

Post by misa » Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:25 am

Hi girls, guys, and everyone between,

this is a link to a playlist of my new band. "Basspop Resistance".

We are a trio from Cologne, Germany. I use the Easel (208r built by me, finished by Papz) and (in this session) an Erica Zen delay (*great* match for the Easel!!). Moritz plays a mean dub bass through a whole starfleet of pedals while Marvin plays the drums.

It's a jam recorded live and edited and mixed a bit -- we will have our first gig at the end of March and more will follow...;)

Please give us some feedback if you like!

Thank you!

This sounds great, hits the spot, exactly my cup of tea.

You guys really jive well together. To me it seems like everyone is respectfully holding back and leaving room for the other, creating a really neat groove. Love the bass-line and the minimalistic drumming.

Oh yeah and then theres this easel which perfectly ties everything together creating a beautiful soundscape. :yay:

Very nice, making room and listening to the other musicians is the essence of jamming indeed. :tu:

I'm not a synths dealer and I'm not aware of an inexpensive Synthi secret market, please don't ask me if I know one for sale.
I don't offer support of any kind to people attempting to build clones of EMS equipment.

I've always wanted to play the easel with a drummer and a bassist..

I'm curious as to how the mix is going to end up, when and if the easel brings in a pulse. The pulse of an easel is a little dominant and hard to put on the grid, when and if this happens the drummer is really going to have to be smooth in his transitions. It would be awesome to see drummer and easel taking turns with the pulse. I've known a lot of drummers over the years whom would have issue adapting to this.

So I don't have any critique but thats what I would find to be cool, let the easel drive a pulse. This could be in form of melody running through SVG or straight rhythm from the pulser, let the drummer compliment it for a moment or two, then back to drone and manual melody.

Make sure to post when and where you guys are going to be performing, I would definitely try to catch a show.
