Damn, I really need to get that page up, don't I?
Anyway, the CHBP comes with:
  • Assembled and tested PCB with 4-pin MOTM power header and 0.1" pitch headers for all panel components
  • Joystick with 4 mounting screws
  • Joystick panel cut-out template
  • 6 jacks with hardware and PCB connectors
  • 4 pots with hardware and PCB connectors
  • 4 knobs
  • One pushbutton switch with hardware and connector
  • two toggle switches with hardware and connectors
  • Power connector for 4-pin header
  • Assembly diagrams
  • Choices module owner's manual (because I haven't written the BP manual yet)
All wire-to-board connectors are Insulation Displacement Connectors (IDC) for 24AWG wire.

And when he says 24, he means 24. I used 22AWG and it was really a pain in the ass. It took a a lot of continuity testing to make sure it was all good. Of course I used a small flat-head screwdriver to shove the wire in -- ordering that little IDC key would help.

As Flight writes, the kit has everything except batteries and box.

Heh, that's why the instruction sheet says "a small flat-bladed screwdriver will be fine, just be careful". Shoving does not fall under "careful". ;)

Two questions:

What is the recommended IDC punchdown tool for those connectors?

Do you sell a barer than bare bones kit (just the assembled PCB)?

Thanks!

Ivan

See the attached PDF, and all of your questions may be answered. I made my own out of some metal strips, which I documented here and here.

Yup, several options there. There's the CHBP- (without joystick) for $70.00, and just the CHBP PCB (assembled PCB with headers) for $55.

Yes there are, I assume you want that instead of the 4-pin?
