Looking to move my Moogs To A Eurorack. Would This Work?

Post by FletchNYC » Fri May 22, 2020 7:06 am

I would like to move my three Moogs to a Eurorack, and I want to be able to listen to all three of them through my headphones. Would this setup work: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1209131

Moog VCA outs to the mixer, mixer out to my headphones.

I would look for a mixer with headphones out plus outputs to go to an external PA or recording device. Another thing to consider is stereo. Are there already external inputs on all three of the Moog modules? If so, I would recommend the Pico OUT. If not, I’d say snag two 2hp mixers (for stereo) in addition to the Pico OUT. :)

I would run it into a 4 channel behringer mixer to get the pans and the metering. the mixer is $80 used. you would spend $600 in eurorack to get the mixer with panning and metering + a headphone output module.

Well then you don’t even need the headphone output if it’s already in the external mixer. No?

I don't actually have an external mixer. Just the mixer module in the rack.

I thought about doing something like that, but if possible, I'd like to keep everything in the rack.

Woah. Awesome! What exactly did you do here? Doesn't look like any of the Moogs I've seen.

Ack. I’m sorry. I read EatYourGuitar’s reply as coming from you. They do have a good point though. But if looking to keep it all in Eurorack, I stand by what I said earlier about the Pico OUT plus 2 x 2hp mixers (if you want stereo).

Never get tired of seeing this photo. Often consider this among the nicest mod work on the web.

Have you ever offered a template for the panels or a kit?

... totally agree. I bust my ass to do the absolute best work I can manage and what I do doesn't lay a finger on what *Member DSC gets done. Excellent work in every way going on there.

Had to stop the Moog stuff as their lawyer sent me a Cease and Desist letter. I framed it and put it up on my studio wall. Not every day you are recognized for your 'awesome' efforts!

How f-cking lame of Moog. Guess that's their NO-PASS filter.

Moog if you're reading this, that was a bummer move. Glad it's framed!

... so Behringer shits all over Moog and it's all good, but one tiny little "DIY for profit" guy makes a friggin template and Moog sicks their lawyers after him? Ain't that a bitch.

How classy. They should pick on someone their own fucking size ... punks.

Bob is going to come back reincarnated as a dog so he can shit on the front lawns of whatever station wagon full of hipster ass clowns has been running Moog since he let go of the reins.
