ES-9, ES-5, EXX-8MD + Machinedrum.

Post by Placid Mouse » Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:56 pm

Hi Everyone

I’m having a little trouble syncing my ES-9, ES-5 and ESX-8MD with my Machinedrum.

I’m using Ableton live to host the SW Sync plugin to which on the track is routed to output 7 of the es-9.

Selecting output 2 on the SWSync clock output illuminates the outputs on my ESX-8MD which pulse in time with the Internal clock, all good there.

I have tried tweaking a number of parameters on both the Machinedrum and the SWSync
A few things I have tried include...
  • Changing almost every value on the SWSync controller!
  • Switching the run parameter with the midi 2 run1 on the ESX-8md device
  • Setting the Machinedrum's Global - Sync - Tempo in/ Control to on

I greatly appreciate any advice, I’ve included a snapshot of my settings.

You don't need the ES-9 activated in the Live's MIDI prefs (unless you're actually using the ES-9's MIDI breakout).

The ES-5 track in Live should be assigned to outputs 7/8 (stereo).

Also if you're trying to send MIDI clock, you don't want SW Sync, you want the ES-5 Controller.
