What do you guys think?
Keep in mind this sits ontop of my frac rig. I have everything except for the headphone preamp and the matrix mixer. (well... and the QMMG, but that comes in next week) Sexxy euro rig I think! Almost time to build a 2nd case!!!

I suppose that your Frac has several E.G.s? not seeing what you will clock with the tap clock otherwise. if this is a setup for drones then loose switch the tap clock for something else, another oscillator or some elf lfos for more modulation

If the clock spits out triggers it will be a great companion to the QMMG.

I"ll post my frac pic tomorrow morning with this post. But... I have 1 EG and 1 VCS in the frac. As well as a metalbox sequential switch and a metalbox divider logic. :)

how so? a trigger is a super short pulse and would only open one of those gates for a very short time. you'd get no envelope variation of shape and duration with just a trigger? I guess you could get some variation on the ring amount on the QMMG controls but that seems limited.

Or am I missing something?

From messing with my Borg 2, low pass gates (and vactrols) love triggers! I mean, if you're going for that classic plucky sound. The vactrol will decay it enough to get a sweet ring. The QMMG seems to offer some sort of dampening too, so that offers more tonal variation.

A variable width gate is great too for variation, of course. I was just commenting that he'd have a veritable pluck-fiesta with that setup.

I've been using the M13 with pulses, it (and the QMMG) are slow enough because of the vactrols to sound more like a woody hit or pluck. The Tap Clock sounds awesome opening and closing a LPG with it' triggers. The LPG acts like a slew. You can see what the Model 13 gate does to square waves (essentially long triggers) in a video I did near the end.

The Tap Clock puts out gates, btw. The signal is high for the entire note duration.

The accent outs are gates as well, but slightly rounded at the top edges so that it's a little smoother for using with a VCA or Filter.

You could get a Triple Timer and make your own gates and triggers from your LFOs. :D

The MakeNoise and Harvestman modules look pretty nice together.

I didn't even notice it was a eurorack with not one European module.

Does that make it a freedomrack?

That's a bizarro box, for sure. Looks like fun, assuming you've got the basic bases covered by your frac.
