Anyone got £45K to spare

Post by a100user » Wed Feb 18, 2009 4:35 am

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EMS-SYNTHI-100-mo ... 240%3A1318

damn that looks nice.

Actually played one of these at the Synth museum that used to be run by Martin Newcombe here in the UK, alas the museum is no more.

Wow! Impressive (synth and the asking price too! :jawdrop: )

LOL, did you look at the questions at the bottom? Someone asked:
"Is it midi compatible? :p"

hehe, smart ass!

Makes you wonder doesn't it?
£45K asking price and person obvious has no idea what he's looking at.

I wonder if it is the same one that keeps turning up in Paris but is never really available.

yes it is, his audiofanzine account was deleted recently, he had several things to sell there (including this ems, an arp quadra, and a few others I don't remember). I don't think it's a fake, Yves Usson (Yusynth) will visit him in march, just for fun...

It is not a fake and I do know the seller...
I worked with Philippe on some Buchla stuff late last year.
Philippe is in Paris.

Yeah, but is he really going to sell it this time? He just had it up for sale for 9k€ and then pulled that. When I inquired as to the synth (en français, no less) his response was curt and in English; but just 2 words that didn't really answer anything. The pricing is also all over the map and his last description was a mix of Synthi 100 and AKS.

Anyhow, I don't have the 45k£ asking price for this round. I would've pulled the trigger upon his much more reasonable asking price last time.

Those speculative prices seem somewhat outdated...especially for technological antiquities...
