Nice mix put together by Casual Violence.
For the fans of Orphyx/Vromb.Darker, atmospheric, slowly evolving textures.

Also, check out the other mixes on the Smile cold anatomy site.In particular i've really been diggin the Perc mix.Just a really solid proper mix in my opinion.

I have no experience in online purchases.
I'm mostly interested in Emptyset,Orphx, T++, Monolake,

boomkat or bandcamp usually...

The Subsist label/bandcamp site has some good stuff. Especially their compilations.

Definitely Tokyo Mask's Lowend Psychopathology. "Obsession One" of my favorite minimalist pieces.

As the winter darkness has set in i'm drifting back into more and more minimal and techy musics - this thread has fed me some great new stuff i didn't know of, but i'm also retreating back into classics not heard for years.

can anyone recommend a good way of id'ing tracks of an old richie hawtin mix tape (it's part of a StarsX2 double casette set that is pretty obscure as far as my search skills can reveal)

are these apps/ites like shazam any good?
magneticweb
not totally minimal but the new planetary assault systems 2xlp is RAD
denim dan
since you're in cleveland magneticweb...

kate simko is playing friday night at touch. and then saturday night in chicago somewhere. minimal house (ghostly intl fam) is where it's at!
digital_steve
Ghostly = stunning
thumbs up
denim dan
kate simko killed it last night. her own productions live first through ableton (and a few other things) with a korg nanokontrol. then dj set with legit vinyl, then a hybrid of both remixing and retouching the vinyl tracks live. yeah!

I've been enjoying this a lot. The other stuff on the smile cold anatomy site is nice as well. Mission accomplished, as far as this thread is concerned.
EATyourGUITAR
4 pages and no one mentioned "The Advent" aka Cisco Ferreira? I probably got it wrong. we all have different ideas of what minimal techno is. as far as labels go, BXR from italy was pretty good for some minimal techno on the flip side to some club banger with vocals. I think every record fell under that formula.

Oh, that's interesting about T++ --> I got Cropped via MP3 download and didn't realise his larger working life. Will go hunt out some more (and get some recordings in REAL formats - ie. screw MP3s)

sweet...yeah, his singles are fanfuckingtastic! my opinion: can't touch mr. Pröfrock, perfect.

...sleeparchive is the shit, one of my fav tracks by him,

mmm, and this one:

slightly different tip, but did anyone mention byetone?

also check mike dehnert, peter van hosen, norman nodge, redshape, sandwell district,
bl13p
Some nice off-kilter minimal, is made by NSI (Non Standard Institut) = Tobias Freund (Pink Elln) and Max Loderbauer (Sun Electric). According to the release notes most of their music is created on a Doepfer modular and some TR-boxes.

Ben Sims recent album 'Smoke & Mirrors' is incredible - especially the tracks 'Bullet' and the title track 'Smoke & Mirrors'
rec.Koner
i love very much The Field!

I think a lot of what is being mentioned now is more techno than minimal techno.

A good place to track down some good minimal/techno/house mixes is on soundcloud. This guy called R_co puts LOADS of mixes up.

When I used to be into techno, I was a sucker for Sleeparchive. Has had a huge influence with minimalistic techno.....
magneticweb
sleeparchive is incredible! great call.

really like the echochord 12"s that have been coming out..lots of weird sloo grit there.

the inertia series comps have been scorching my turntable as well lately.

Been into minimal techno for like 15-20 years now! A big focus for me on the modules I make is to create things that would be useful for making techno. I still have not made a lot of the modules I need/want yet.

Anyways random favourites off the top of my head:

Stewart Walker - anything old (stabiles, reclamations etc. were masterpieces in minimalism)

Robert Hood: (sorry blatantly Detroit so maybe not your thing but so hypnotic)

Mathew Jonson - Freedom Engine (his early stuff on iiwii were amazing)

Andy Vaz - 1-1 (Sound Variation)
http://music.yahoo.com/andy-vaz/albums/sound-variation-1-1--42548190

G-Man - Quo Vadis (classic!!! love anything that sounds underwater)

Farben - Bayreuth (basically anything by Jan Jelinek as Farben is gold)

Marco Carola - Question series has some nice deep stuff hidden in there'

Two Lone Swordsmen - Glide By Shooting (more deep techno/house than minimal but one of my all time favorite tracks and very trippy)
