br>I think a lot of what is being mentioned now is more techno than minimal techno.
A good place to track down some good minimal/techno/house mixes is on soundcloud. This guy called R_co puts LOADS of mixes up.

br>When I used to be into techno, I was a sucker for Sleeparchive. Has had a huge influence with minimalistic techno..... br> br> |

br>sleeparchive is incredible! great call.
really like the echochord 12"s that have been coming out..lots of weird sloo grit there.
the inertia series comps have been scorching my turntable as well lately. br> br> |

br>Been into minimal techno for like 15-20 years now! A big focus for me on the modules I make is to create things that would be useful for making techno. I still have not made a lot of the modules I need/want yet.
Anyways random favourites off the top of my head:
Stewart Walker - anything old (stabiles, reclamations etc. were masterpieces in minimalism)
Robert Hood: (sorry blatantly Detroit so maybe not your thing but so hypnotic)
Mathew Jonson - Freedom Engine (his early stuff on iiwii were amazing)
Andy Vaz - 1-1 (Sound Variation)
http://music.yahoo.com/andy-vaz/albums/sound-variation-1-1--42548190
G-Man - Quo Vadis (classic!!! love anything that sounds underwater)
Farben - Bayreuth (basically anything by Jan Jelinek as Farben is gold)
Marco Carola - Question series has some nice deep stuff hidden in there'
Two Lone Swordsmen - Glide By Shooting (more deep techno/house than minimal but one of my all time favorite tracks and very trippy)

Awesome This is also my passion for the last 20+ years. I still play Quo Vadis in my set all the time. Minimal is more a state of mind than a genre...anything can be "minimal". Much of what is being called minimal is really just techno. Didn't know you were a tech-head intellijell...that just up'd your stock with me br> br> |

The Studio 1 stuff is so amazing. Timeless sounding yet I can't believe how old it really is. When I think of how most techno sounded at the time, especially at raves and such, it makes his music sound like it was sent from 20 years in the future.
What I love most about those records is the polyrhythms. Almost euclidian patterns with extremely subtle modulations. br> br> |
