Sell my malfunctioning M9 for a QMMG?

Post by VanEck » Mon Apr 20, 2009 12:38 pm

Since my M9 was not repaired properly, I have been looking around for replacement mixer modules... my search has lead me to the mysterious QMMG once again.

Would the QMMG be a good choice as mixer/quad gate? Can it do attenuation on CV like the M9 can, as well as process audio? Does its 4 channels have volume control?

If the answer is yes to all of these, then I am definitely sold.

well, volume control in the sense that it can do typical "Vca" duties, then yes.

Yeah, I just want to be able to turn the channels up and down as needed to mix... and when its down, have it be *silent*.

For a while, I thought the QMMG had no such control... I was a little confused as to what the module does, as well as how LPG's function. The more I read into it though, it seems pretty versatile and make a much better companion to my 132-3 instead of the M9, which only has three functioning channels at this point.

I'm sold for the qmmg too, really a must have mysterious unit...
I think that there is much more under the hood with that, also somewhat of a mixing device 8_)
...but as a vactrol based device you may have little signal bleeding also if you want them to be silent... (maybe)
I own a M9 too, so I dont care so much of bleeding! :omg:

the qmmg has no audible bleed, from my experience. It's rock solid.
