analog haven has these listed as in stock has anyone taken one for a spin or is there any info on what it sounds like? i couldnt find a post even saying thats it in stock anyhow just wondering what it sounds like and how people are liking it.

It's been unusually quiet about these, considering how loved harvestman is by many, including me. There's a demo in this thread,
https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47239&postdays=0&pos torder=asc&start=0
But I'd love to see a nice trash audio video demo.
Hint, hint...
Please w00t

I just got mine today. Don't have a demo for you, but I think it sounds awesome.

can someone explain to me what makes the polivoks vco special compared to other analog saw cores?
governor blacksnake
The expo converter and thermostat circuit are the opposite implementation of the idea that everyone else copies from each other. Also, the triangle wave shaper is not calibrated and sounds nice and buzzy. It's more stable than you would expect, too.

I've been wondering the same. Especially "the distortion on the triangle output is nice" would be nice to hear. Or better, see some scope shots.
Starrefision
in non-technical terms,
it's an aggressive growling monster. twisted

Anyone with scope shots yet?

Does anyone actually have this module? Could you post some audio (raw waveforms)?

I know this isn't raw waveforms, but did you listen to the audio demos on this thread: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47 239&postdays=0&post order=asc&start=0

This answers your first question at least wink

Yes, I did. Good demos but it's hard to tell because heavy modulation going on most of the time. I would buy one and test it myself but I'm saving for the Machinderum.

So, it's been another week. Anyone with scope? Yes, I will annoy you until I got what I want.

Gonna take the leap and grab one next week. Love the other polivoks module. Have to give it a friend

Decided to just go for it and ordered one. While waiting for it to arrive I'm still figuring out what all the knobs do.

What I think:

Top down/left to right
- coarse tune
- fine tune
- octave switch

- attenuverted exp freq cv
- 1v/oct cv

- attenuated lin freq cv
- big knob, not optically related to a specific input? (middle, right)

- sync
- pw / atten

Or should I get a course on cyrillic/russian?
p3t0r
Ok. Spent some time with translate:

част. грубо == freq. coarse
скважность == duty cycle

Guess duty cycle is for pulse width? Or does it also operator on the other waveforms?
governor blacksnake
It's the pulse width knob. The box includes a translated panel drawing and calibration instructions.

Had to much fun with my new polivoks to bother about clean waveforms:

That's incredibly frustrating sad

Oh well, I don't need the demo anymore as I am currently unemployed.
p3t0r
.... a that is to bad... was planning to make some tonight. Would that add or take away frustration?

Made some samples of the raw waveforms:

This sounds F.A.T.

I need another case... Dead Banana

here are my polivoks VCG waves.

The saw seems inverted in the p3t0r's screenshots where it looks like a ramp.

Also our triangle is different, mine is asymetrical, like a sin at the top and triangle at the bottom. Not sure if this is normal, but it sounds great.

My polivoks is calibrated on a recent monorocket mission 9.

I have added raw sound at the bottom of the page w00t : https://www.infinitesimal.eu/synth/article21/the-harvestman-polivoks-v cg-demo

oh and there is a nice vintage component inside :

Ted
Wow. Those are some really interesting shapes. Far out.
