Post by __ag » Sun Feb 26, 2012 9:56 pm

Hello all,

Just a brief post to announce the new External PSU:
http://www.addacsystem.com/product/adda ... /addac909e

Simple, compact and easy to carry.
Connectors are Din5 (midi style) compatible with all our frames but easily hackable to power any Bus Board.

More additions connectors, adapters and such will come out in a couple weeks!

all the very best

That's a beautiful power supply my friend. Something I wouldn't hide behind a rack.

Is that 1.5A together or per - & + rail?

Main advantage compared to Doepfer DIY kit?

eidt: what is ADDAC909P?

Any chance of a photo of the 909e next to a 901d please? I'd love to see the two units next to each-other for scale.

Hello,

About the Power specs, it's 1.5A for each rail
Differences, besides more power output it is contained in a closed box, no exposure to wires, etc...

ADDAC909P is the barebones PSU, to be installed inside a cabinet, just the PSU itself and the power regulator board.

And the requested photo:

If I'm ever to buy a new system this will be it. It is just so streamlined and complete. Your eye for design is brilliant mister - very good work! :tu:

Like posted below, you can draw 1.5A or 1500mA from each rail.
1A = 1000mA

So you can draw 1.5A from +12V and 1.5A from -12V

That's pretty killer. Love the design too. Looks like my next PSU purchase! Any idea if it's going to make it to AH?

Also, can this supply +5v? If so, how much?

There's no +5V coming out, soon we'll also have a +5V adapter to be plugged in the bus boards.

and most probably this will be direct sales from us, but i'll talk to AH and see!

it's a power supply who cares how it looks haha : ( not to poo poo, I mean I'd rather have a power drill that looks like a crystal castle than my power drill from home depot : )

Is that a fan I see on it? make any noise?

yes there's a small fan in it, it does make noise but it has a on/off switch for when silence is necessary!

Very nice, well thought out design !! Any chance of a larger version (say big enough to power 9U worth of modules)? Maybe 3A or so, like a Serge supply... I would prefer to buy one very powerful supply and have enough power for future expansion (as well as the convenience of running everything off of one supply).

That's a very good idea as well!
i could do that making it a bit bigger, but it would be doable!
we can also talk about a custom design if you're interested, otherwise it will take me a while to be able to do that!
