Blippoo Box Duet (Video)

Post by rastko » Thu Mar 01, 2012 3:28 pm

Greetings rom Geneva !

not sure that this goes in this subforum but these boxes can make noise as well. A lot of noise.

I visited Richard in Berlin and we just had to do this "Blippoo Box Duet".

Sounds like you guys are having fun! :goo: :goo:

I will accept this as a personal failing, but I have yet to listen to an example of the Blippoo Box that doesn't sound plain god awful. It seems like it contains all of the pieces that I would love, yet appears to be hand-crafted specifically to make me hate it. But maybe that's its magic?

Just saw this on Vimeo, I really liked the cross patching near the end.

Thanks Richard and Rastko!

I love how 'wet' those boxes sound, must be the filter?

nice stuff guys! The clash of the stomach rumbles :-)

Do you both have the same versions? I see there is a V2 out now I must have bought the last V1. Any idea what the difference is?

I LOVE this stuff....metallic insect sex and digestion noises! I placed and order for a Blippoo based on everything I have seen/heard.

Thank you all for the kind words.
I am really happy that some of you like what we do with these strange (beautiful) instruments.

Sorry fot not responding before but I have some (normal) family things happening and I am running around like mad.

This made me smille.
Thank you for being honest.
I do understand that it is hard to understand why would anybody like sounds that sounds like crocodile having a bad digestion.

I use it for a lot of things and this kind of sounds are one of it.
The thing is as well that we produce a lot of sounds , a lot .

I want to make some demos of the blippoo in some different settings .
I use it as an oscillator and cv generator.
It is wonderful when sequenced and it can sound like digital glitch.

Ok I promise some demos as soon as I can.

"reminds me of the Synthi"

I absolutely don`t know why as I heard it maybe twice in my life but it reminds me of the synthi as well maybe the "madness".

"Do you both have the same versions? I see there is a V2 out now I must have bought the last V1. Any idea what the difference is?"

Richard has the first one and I have the v2 one.
Richard knows better but I have 2 extra cv inputs..I could be wrong .
Then he has this switch thing wich I don`t have a clue what it does.
Now Franz has one with even more stuff on it .

I wish you all a good night here form Geneva

this is the V1 which I have

Image

it has one CV Input with an attenuator and a switch to send it to either VCO1 or the filter. The second switch toggles between external input and internal VCOs. You can play a tricks by using the various outputs and inputs to further modulate itself or use the modulators as an audio source

I am curious to have independent rungler control over the filter, which the V2 offers, but I wouldn't swap mine for a V2 as I use both switches all the time.

I should add: I use mine all the time as a voltage source for other modular stuff and for nearly every gig as a processor for external signals modulated by a sequencer - it really excels at both these tasks, as does the Benjolin
