upload test

Post by Chuck E. Jesus » Thu Jan 17, 2008 6:30 pm

ftp://punch.dreamhost.com/upload.muffwi ... 20CRAP.mp3

can't figure how to do the nice and smooth upload yet...but here is a brief bit of crap i recorded after making cooler sounds for an hour before i decided to actually hit the record button...

Doepfer A110 osc being modulated by the Plan B M15 osc being modulated by the same A110 and a slow random from the Doepfer A118 Noise source, run thru the Doepfer BBD and Phase Shifter...and fucking with the knobs...

There you go - but you can take that same URL and make it easier now that the file is there.

First, just use http. Instead of ftp

Next strip out all that punch.DreamHost stuff

Your URL is -

http://upload.muffwiggler.com/PLAN%20B%20CRAP.mp3

infact, you HAVE to strip out the punch.dreamhost stuff, and change to the http:// prefix

otherwise, when people click on the link you provided above, they are asked to login to the FTP

ps. don't put spaces in filenames, they get converted to the % and some browsers and players have issues handling them 8)

fantastic. For whatever reason, it reminded me of some kind of computer from the 70s (they sounded different back then) being tortured. :D

I really like the crispy glitchy part towards the end and how it slowly sounds like feedback and then into a solid tone.

The more I hear things that use the Doepfer BBD delay, the more I realize I want one.
dress yourself for the public. you now must exit your home and acquire a dental mirror and lubrication!
i recommend a hat, or a helmet. if a helmet, ensure that it is both convincing and unbiased. -citizen mori

that sound at the end is really the Plan B M15 osc mod modulating the Doepfer osc...it's a beautiful mod, i'm blown away by it...that weird slippy bit is the slow random from the Doepfer A118 hitting the M15, and you can hear those vactrols adding that "physical element"...i used to shove mics into speakers since i was a kid, and i love how you can get almost a board feedback loop sound from a modular....the Doepfer BBD and Phaser were providing the flangey/downsampling and filtering bits, respectively....

Wow! I love the tortured modem sound at the end (also enjoyed reading how you went about making it).
Good stuff.
