Namasitar Stylophone Prototype by Meng Qi, on Flickr

Circuit : Peter B
PCB / Design : Meng Qi

Stylophone style instrument that enables "press barre" style playing similar to sidrassi and tetrazzi.

Also with external piezo input for processing other instruments.

Guinness ftw!

Your new Namasitar seems to be more interesting (for me) than the two other instruments.
However i can't wait to hear them.
In fact, i seriously think to place an order for the Namasitar 8_)

Thank you.
There will be some minor change in the final version, like a small hole for easily adjusting trimmer without uninstalling faceplate.
I'll record something then, just in a few days.

Peter seems to be quite busy these days!

I'm wondering if this instrument has a similar sound to the Sidrazzi with some nearly equally tempered keyboard.

actually namastitar is an old design of peter's - it has been available for a while as a paper circuit but Meng Qi recently made pcb versions of this and some of the other paper circuits which are much easier to build.

its totally different from sidrazzi and tetrazzi though.

How low can she go? Frequency wise- I mean.

It can go VERY LOW to completely inaudible.

Yeah, here is the demo video for Grassi:

Still need to record the other two!

Really fast reply woah
The Grassi is a great source of noises for sure!

Sorry for the necropost, but since Meng Qi released a new PCB for the namasitar I was wondering where the schematic is. I could only find a written description on the CL website

Please could someone point me in the right direction for a BOM and build thread for the Meng Qi PCB version of the Ciat Lonbarde Namastitar?

I've looked without any joy so far

Would really appreciate some info

Thanks!

Hi All

Had a go at the Bom for this - mostly from the PCB, but a few bits from paper circuit. Not completely sure about diodes, or if pots should be linear/exponential. I'm not going to have a chance to order/build for a bit as too much on so please treat this is unverified, but hopefully this will help some make a bit of progress.

Necroposting this thread again, but do you guys know what the use of the "pow" and the "ladder". is the ladder a tuning trimmer?
I have a couple of these pcbs that I want to get around to build but I dont know how to properly do the connections.
