Author u.s. component supplier

HI, I know there is a bunch of diff. suppliers out there but i am finding that when i am ordering components i am having to search through 3 or 4 diff. distributors for all my parts.
Is this typically how it goes or does anyone have someone that they can usually rely on to have most of the parts there looking for?

Thanks
Luka
i would think mouser / digikey should sort you out

Once you get the hang of Mouser, you will be covered for most everything.

Digikey can fill in the empty slots, which will pretty much be ICs.

Then hit Small Bear or bridechamber for obsoletes.

Then hunt like mad for hens teeth bits all over the place.

Buying parts is painfull as hell, but a necessary evil.

I use Mouser first, Digikey second, then get the occasional odd thing at Jameco.

I'm rarely let down by the combination of the three of them.

I've always tried http://www.findchips.com/ to find the lowest price. Most of the time it's DK, but occasionally theres a large discrepancy on unusual stuff.

I will add Allied to the list. Allied has some things that you won't find at Mouser such as vactrols. Futurlec also carries some harder to find ICs.

My order of searching is something like:

http://www.digikey.com/
http://www.mouser.com/
http://www.alliedelec.com/
http://www.ebay.com/
http://www.tedss.com/
http://www.surplussales.com
http://www.google.com/
