Possible WSW Germanium Preamps groupbuy

Post by mono-poly » Mon Jul 13, 2009 10:53 am

I got an option to buy over 40 WSW Germanium Preamps.
That are way to many for me but are people interested in buying some at 150 - 200 euro each?
I am gonna try to aim for 150 euro.
But i need to buy them all at once and really need to sell a big amount off them.

Here's some pics:

Is there a built in psu? What kind of connectors are needed?

I think they need 24 volt power and got no psu.
I think connectors are kinda rare but you really can solder easy on the pins on the back.
I will get everyone documentation off the modules when i can work around a deal.
But i really need to sell at least 20 units to have enough cash for the other 20+ models.
I thik they boost +30db.

Ok here is some good and some bad news.

I can make the price 150 euro each for sure (if i can sell 20 before picking them up)
Right now i got no schematics but i have some documentation from a unit from this range witch describes the pin connectors.

if you have pin-outs and the units are running fine already I see no worry in not have a schematic immediately. eventually will be great if anything goes down on it.

Did you see this thread?

Very interesting but out of my league as far as what's needed to clean them, restore them and make sure these actually work.

Really cool though.

They are kinda hard to test one by one.
But they sure can need some recapping and cleaning.
They come from a reliable friend off me and schematics are now avaible.

Same here. If I'd get something of which I'd be 100% sure it worked and I got a PSU and the right connections on it, I'd gladly pay a little extra for that. Though times for people with 2 left hands :sadbanana:

huh?

it's a bargain. Neve is overrated IMHO, but regardless what you compare this with, as far as preamps go, this is sixties quality stuff. When cost did not matter. I have an idea of the source. I was also offered strips with eq from other sources. lovely lovely tones!!

I'd be interested but I won't have funds for two whole months.
