Okay so I got this Bugbrand starter frame. It is awesome! DHL got it from Bristol to my doorstep in the forest in less than 3 days, kind of unreal.

It is shiny and pretty, and it makes very rich and loud sounds. I have been impressed sonically by every aspect of it thus far. With self FM of the various quadrature outs of the Sine Osc's, I've been able to achieve quite a variety of typical and atypical waveforms... basically everything from sine to triangle to saw and inbetween. the wavefolder is... quite killer... i've had experience with the doepfer one, the toppo TWF, and the serge one, and i think i like this one the most. it has a very wide range but no sweet spots, everything sounds good. all the others i've used focus more on sweet spots.

any how... first song made with it:

the main FM leads and the melodic thing that creeps in are all bugbrand. the gated bass drone is blacet oscillator thru mini wave. the percs and kick are from the machine drum.

i used my wogglebug, µstep, and vermona QMi to spit gates and a couple CV's. everything goes through octatrack which is doing FX and midi sequencing. it was all live except the melodic bit which was an overdub.

thanks all for the listening and words... i love when i can satisfy the wigglers w00t y'all might like some of the other latest installments on my A.C. Lyon page if you dug that one.

i'm in vegas now visiting my family, and i was able to sneak both the bug and my octatrack on to carry on (and it was NOT a pain in the ass)!! i took off the desktop cheeks and screwed on 4 blacet rack ears, 2 for each side, which totally cover the gaps and make the thing ultra-portable. if only the power module weren't so deep this thing could potentially be thinner than a euro skiff.

any how, i got lots more coming, i'll post them in this thread. currently i'm working on some trance loops for a collaboration with a friend, i was able to pull some REALLY fat and tight kick and bass out of the thing (150 bpm kick in a 16th note... the ultimate test of a synth) with just one envelope generator (!).... the sines from these quadrature osc's are somehow more pure and fat then any self-oscillating filter i've used.

more thoughts and audio to come soon... It's peanut butter jelly time! nanners Dead Banana

Alrighty! This Bugbrand thing kicks ASS. It sounds so good and is tons of fun to use. I am in love and definitely going to try and expand (confession: already traded Ekofisk my VCFC for 3 more bugs and another rack).

Any how this is a track i've been working on for weeks now... not a jam but a fully produced studio creation, in the genre of Psychedelic Trance.

Almost all the main leads are Bugbrand-- they sit in the mix really well! I also made some leads with the Euro, mostly just vactrol bangs and such... I'm quite into the Soundhack Echophon module, even ran the Bugbrand through it a couple times, can't believe how nice it is to have a temp sync'd delay in my modular rack.
The basslines are all Pro One. the kick and percussions are Machinedrum.

all percussions and sound bugbrand except for some white noise from an improbability drive and an SEM atmospheric lick.

I like the atmosphere. Good work.
