Final DSP code is 99% completed for the Euro rack version Cloud Generator (8
VCOs with voltage-controlled spreading, chaos and chaos bandwidth).

Currently in pc board layout, expect to be "on the shelf" for immediate delivery mid-September. $299. Cheap!

4 Sawtooth waves synch'd to external MOTM-310 uVCO, direct output

4 Sine waves with various modulations on all 4 CV inputs, direct output

8 sawtooths passed through a MOTM-440 VCF:

4 sines modulated and sent to t.c.electronic M3000 reverb:

8 saws with Chaos/Chaos BW modulated then sent to MOTM-410 Triple Resonant
VCF (talking robots!):

Some interesting sounds in there It's peanut butter jelly time!

Wow! applause

Yeah, this looks hawt. screaming goo yo
timmah
like it a lot.

SlayerBadger!
Fnord
I agree!

Sounds cool. There's still going to be a MOTM version, correct? Will there be a kit?
paults
MOTM version is 16 VCOs, 48 noise generators and 48 parametric EQs. All in hardware screaming goo yo

All SMT, no kit. seriously, i just don't get it
apfEID
how many HP? roughly?

we're not worthy we're not worthy
paults
14 HP wide.
scozbor
this will also require 5v?

(wondering if I can squeeze the motm version into frac lol)
paults
a) requires +-12V or +-15V (doesn't care, but has Euro ribbon connector on pc board)

b) no immediate plans for Frac version
paults
If you want the MOTM-520/521 in Frac, good luck with that eek!

a) requires a LOT of +5V (has 32-bit ARM processor and giant Xilinx FPGA)

b) boards will be pretty large (2 of them) about 3" x 7" (and 6 layers to boot).

Sounds great!

Bad link alert! ambulance

nice and spooky! Ghost
Hi5
just wondering if any other motm goodies will make it to euroland?
i've heard so any nice things about the filters. especially that 420.
paults
There will be both existing MOTM designs going to Euro as well as specific things that are Euro only. But it really depends on demand. So, vote with your pocketbook SlayerBadger!
Hi5
well count me in for the 420 and the gx fiters fo sho!
have friends at SAIC in chicago who get to play with their motm set-up and all i hear about is how badass the 420 is.
Malekko
Those clips sound super awesome Paul!

SAIC = School of the Art Institute of Chicago

Yes, they have a pretty large MOTM system that replaced a dead/dying EMu modular.

New York University has 3 MOTM systems in various departments. Including this one. And no, they are NOT German, they are NYU students in the music department. Pretty funny though. I don't think real German techno kids would have $40,000 of EMS and Buchla gear woah

Sounds good to me, Paul, count me in for one of these bad boys.

Come on, lets see it in Frac, oscillators are thin (no pun intended) on the ground in frac land!

Great to see you venturing into euro. Your designs have always been very solid - it will be nice to see them making it into other systems.

You mentioned the 520/521 - is there any information available on the 521? I don't think I've heard of it before now.

Sounds great! Any pics or panel layout?
paults
a) I will have a rendering of the E340 panels next week

b) the MOTM-521 is an optional programmer/expander for the MOTM-520. It has a 4x20 LCD display, 6 rotary encoders to enter data and additional audio outs/CV ins. The MOTM-520 Cloud Generators has 43 independent programmable parameters that make up a "patch". You can store 16 patches into FLASH memory if you have the '521. There is also a 2-op DX-7 type FM section in the '521 that is not on the '520.

The E340 has 1 'patch' (the factory setting). What we did in the firmware is have lookup tables that allow for a wide range of effects. The MOTM-520 allows you to 'pinpoint' very specific effects with the programmer.

REALLY WONDERFUL STUFF

but september? :(

i think this fits me more than the donutz will. as much as i like off the wall stuff, this cloud generator seems great, great, great for evolving textures, pads, and dronessss

yum yum
