Switch up: Manual Tuning - Both Tuning knobs work
Middle Switch: Tuned to Middle C - Fine Tune knob works, other one is of
Switch down: Tuned to C one OCT lower - Fine Tune knob works, other one is of

Very nice for fast Patching if you work with quantized Voltages or the midi Interface.

Cool feature. I wish I had it on mine.

Indeed, useful feature, thanks for the explanation!

Are there other Hordijk modules available besides the ones in this system?

Ill try to post some stuff in the next weeks, the system is really deep so it´ll take some time to explore the possibilities.

Hmm... the image didn't show up in my quote. It's supposed to be the one from the first post in this thread.

Currently, no ... except for the "stand alone" (without node processor), bigger matrix (8x8)...There was the Phaser Filter but it's currently not available due to a revision (addition of a VCA)...

The Phaser Filter is one of my favorite filters. It's unique, versatile, very musical, and inspiring. The addition of an internal VCA will make it even better. I highly recommend this module.

Anyone out there want to post some more Hordijk demos? This is about the only synth item that interests me but there's so little information out there...

I posted several audio demo tracks for the Dual Phaser, the Phase Filter, the 24dB Filter, and the HRM OSC over at Gearslutz:

Those demos are epic Dave, some very nifty patching there ... listened to them douzens of times in the last couple of years and each time with the same pleasure... :hail:
The accompanying notes are quite informative too :tu:

quick tech: does anybody know how i can listen to the hrmosc demos from dave? on the gearslutz page (where i am not a member) it only gives me the option to save the demo files, and it appears that my computer does not support their playback after downloading...

:hmm:
You should be able to play them with Windows Media Player or with Quicktime (with the right codec...), or even with VLC

Great demos Dave. I hadn't heard those before. Zeitdehner's are good too but hard to tell what is what. I think I've seen most of the YouTubes.

Thanks you guys!

I really should get a Hordijk Rungler module...

There is really nothing else like it, and not having one in my system seems terribly irresponsible of me....

Yes, sure, that's totally irresponsible Image

It's really an unique module, with it's strong, wild but disciplined character and behaviour. I think it's schizoid because at times it's slightly deranged and at others it's totally nuts. It can sound very organic and with one tweak sound very "computer" like... impressive :woah:
I use it extensively because of its ability to produce several audio signals and CVs simultaneously...quite powerful and versatile ! I will get a second one for that very reason and also to be able to patch up some Blippo Box like sounds... (Already can do that with one, to a certain extent, but I also would love to have a stand alone Twin Peak Resonator for that matter Image )
I think the Rungler is much more "musical" than the Wogglebug (which I have too, the Make Noise Eurorack variant) and totally different from the 266 alikes.

For example, Patch01 in the above mentioned demo track set is just the Stepped output of the Rungler to the Triple Input Filter, mode switch is set to Dense, adjust VCO A Rate for pitch and adjust VCO B Rate for "arpeggio" rate. All other controls are zeroed. With a bit of tweaking you can easily produce some "Satriani tapping, shredding" type of sounds ...if you like that

Definitely get one (or two) for some organized chaos :tu:

Cheers Image

While admittedly not that great, I have a few Hordijk snippets up on my Soundcloud page; https://soundcloud.com/hanz/sets/hordijk-modular
Some explanation "what is what":
- The piece called Hordijk Ambience One (just recorded today) features Rungler through Node Processor quantizer, Triple LF-VCO clocking the Rungler and modulating the Harmonic Oscillator and 24dB Filter. Basically slapped some processing on it, pressed record and uploaded to SC.
- The piece called Hordijk Jam shows some cross-modulated Harmonic Oscillator through the 24 dB filter, controlled from my iPad through the Node Proc MIDI interface.
- The other pieces "LV426" and "Nostromo" are clips aimed at demonstrating the more extreme 'typical Hordijk sounds".

I do agree the with Zeitdehner on his analysis that the Rungler works very musically useful, perhaps indeed better than the Wogglebug.
Where it works best for me if melded with the Triple LF-VCO module, which delivers a completely different breed of controlled-chaotic output. The Triple LF-VCO can be used to 'harness' the Rungler a bit, while still going into unexpected territories - especially if the Rungler outputs are selectively cross-modulated back into the Triple LF-VCO.

Franzschier..I'm thinking about a a hordjik that looks the same as yours !
Is that the case that comes with it ?
Interested in your thoughts about single modules as opposed to tri modules.

YES. Its very nice esp. for the Price. All of Robs stuff I have is of very good quality buildwise.

To be honest I thought about configuring it different, but then changed my mind as its Robs System and he thought about it before configuring them as he did. I sometimes wish for one more oscillator and one less Filter, but then having 2 Filters is very nice again, esp if I use it with other System or use onbe of the filters as OSC..[/quote]

Thanks for that.

Rob says he has new stuff coming...wonder if there will be an alternate filter ?
