DAY 2: Comparator & Rectifiers

Post by __ag » Wed Jan 02, 2013 4:10 am

And here we go again,

DAY 2:
ADDAC208 Comparator & Rectifiers.

One more utility module for our 200 Line: A simple comparator with a manual threshold + half and full-wave rectifiers in both positive and negative rails.

You can use it to generate triggers from LFOs by setting the
threshold to be the peak (1 trigger), thru (2 triggers), or
fall (1 trigger). Useful in an ADDAC system with LC and MP.

Also, looks like you can go into audio rates and use it as
a waveshaper.

Yes, you're right, you can use it for waveshaping at audio rates, it's a totally analog module.

Full-wave rectification it's also useful when you want to use a bipolar LFO to drive a positive CV input, you get the double of the frequency in the output but only positive voltages... not sure if i was clear enough here, hope you get my point.

all the very best
