ProModular MIIIIX mixer/pan/vca On SALE AT AH & CTRL

Post by qu.one » Thu Jan 03, 2013 2:00 pm

MIIIIX is on sale and you can currently grab one for $100 off standard price - for a limited time.

The ProModular MIIIIX module. Very easy module to grasp - 4 channels of clean mixing, with two independent stereo outputs and a single minijack stereo out, CV for all inputs, independent MUTE and SOLO buttons with LED indicators and all channels will still retain their direct outputs as well.

Should have one ready for NAMM.

We are flirting with an optional expander to add mute/solo control and expandability to add an additional MIIIIX for larger mixing.

18HP.

Awesome. So with the channel mix inputs thus could be cv pan (with a/b outs hard panned) or cv sends?

Will the stereo mini jack be able to drive headphones?

Do the individual channel CVs for level also affect the level of the individual channel outputs, so this could be used as 4 separate VCAs if needed?

Nice!

The panel layout appears to be 18hp, though. :despair:

:woah: well dang, now that's a really, really sweet looking mixer module, qu.one - the functionality and layout look perfect!

i must admit i was a little skeptical about having solo-buttons on a module when that was discussed in chef monopoly's eurorack-mixer wishlist-thread a while back. but now that I see them on the miiix , it is a feature that i must have! :bacon:

definitely in for at least one of these beauties (and will make room for it in a system that already has a bunch of other mixer modules)! :bananaguitar:

cheers

Yes each channel is an individual VCA with a dedicated output.

CHx CV controls the amplitude to the dedicated output and to MIX A and MIX B.

CHx MIX controls the panning across MIX A and MIX B for each channel.

Yes the CHx MIX inputs are for VC panning. Positive voltages pan to MIX B,
negative voltages pan to MIX A. +/-5V control voltages will pan the signal full swing when the OUTPUT MIX control is in mid position.

A headphone compatible center jack is in the running for consideration in the final design. This is one of the "user's choice vote" options.

Well, my vote would be headphone. AP, can you clarify if it is 18 or 20 hp? If its 18, I can make it fit. This is just what I wanted. I have a Unify now, but I'd rather have solo/mutes and panning for sure!

May I also suggest even just a jumper to set line level or modular level outs. Would be super handy!

Great to see some more simple and solid stereo mixers without absurd levels of feature creep. A set of mute gate inputs would be a nice expander provided the mutes have the right balance of slew to them where they aren't excessively "clicky," but even without this looks like a very balanced offering.

nice one love the layout and the feature
on a channel what is the gain stage 1x, 2x, 4x, 10x,
I mean is 10 equal the input or 2 time the input.

About the size, I'm not 100% although it appears to be 18hp from qu.one's panel layout. We both develop the module concepts, he designs the panel and layout, I'm in the electronic design dept. So we'll have to wait for him to clarify the exact size :tu:

Yes it would be interesting to be able to sequence mutes and solos. But the reality of that expander is dependent on user interest.

sinemod, yes it is still early yet and we have a lot of beta-testing to do but you can expect that some gain will be possible on each channel. Exactly how much is tbd. :tu:

Nice. Its such a great interface and layout. If this stays 18hp, it's in my future...

One more thing... If you use a channel as a vca... input, cv, output, does that remove it from the mix?
