feature requests - "silent way trigger"

Author feature requests - "silent way trigger"

Hello

just got silent + volta

i'd like to see a version of silent way
( we can call it "silent way trigger" )
focused on triggering and envelopes instead
of pitch.

i imagine a plugin where i can set the triggers and envelopes in
silent way to respond to a specific midinote

example:

midinote C1 controls trigger/envelope/gate #1
midinote D1 controls trigger/envelope/gate #2
midinote E1 controls trigger/envelope/gate #3
midinote F1 controls trigger/envelope/gate #4
midinote G1 controls trigger/envelope/gate #5
midinote A1 controls trigger/envelope/gate #6
midinote H1 controls trigger/envelope/gate #7
midinote C2 controls trigger/envelope/gate #8

with an output matrix like the one in silent way
so i can route and mix to the outputs of
my audio-interface.

I llike silent way a lot already
but it is a PITA that i have to have a seperate instance
( with all that that implies of making new auxes and assigning
outputs )
everytime i want to trigger a new event on my Serge.

all the best, - Kim

Well that's certainly possible.

you don't need to make auxes unless you want to use them - if all you want is a single or stereo output from the voice controller just leave it as stereo.

You could almost do what you want just by Lua scripting the current plug-in, but I can't immediately think of a way to do it. I'll post if I do.

Otherwise, thanks for the suggestion, I'll add it to the list.

Going back to the original suggestion, do you actually have a need for 8 gates/envelopes in the same plug-in/matrix?

My inclination would be do to this as another stereo plug-in (like DC & LFO), and then if you wanted 8 gates, you'd just load up 4 plug-ins.

I'd like to have it all in one instrument-plugin, because then i can
edit the various triggers in one region in logic
instead of having to edit several tracks.

thanks for your replies, - kim

Can you not have all the MIDI in one place, and then send it to multiple tracks?

I'm not a Logic expert - I tend to assume that everything is as sensible and flexible as Live. Sadly I'm often wrong in this. razz

I don't think thats possible in Logic

Just tried it. You can do it by connecting two instrument tracks together in the environment.

OK here's a beta for you to try:

http://expert-sleepers.co.uk/downloads/silentway_trigger_1_4_0beta.tgz

It's a single channel (mono plug-in) that can output gate, trigger, envelope or velocity. If you want more than one of those at once, use multiple plug-ins set to respond to the same note.

Let me know what you think!

it works really well !
i did the "cabling the instruments in the environment" thing in logic
and it is an (relatively) easy setup procedure.

do you plan to keep it mono ?
i'd like to have at least stereo with a trigger/gate for one side
and an envelope for the other.
i'd use it for percussive sounds -
trigger for preprogrammed cv's on the serge and envelope
for vca/filtering

- but on second thought -
i guess i could do like you suggest and have more than one
instrument cabled together and set to the same midi note..

best, - Kim

Yup, two copies set to the same note would be the way to do that.

Glad it works well for you. I'll try to get it properly released later this week.

hi, my feature request: ( not having silentway for now and just begun to read in )

hispeed trigger outs = multiples of the midiclock. If possible up to audiospeed.

Go get it! The demo's a free download.

The trigger plug-in will go as fast as you can program MIDI notes in your sequencer.

Alternatively you could use the LFO plug-in. I know for a fact that works fine generating DINsync (24ppqn).

lol, i need a DC coupled interface first.
thanks

Hi,

I am new to muff wiggler.. I have recently updated my mac to High Sierra. Silent way crashes every time I close the plugin in Live since the update. Do you think that it is a compatibility issue? Any hope for a fix?

Thanks,
h
os
I believe it's a High Sierra issue and I plan to look at it very soon.
