cool fm result with the Teezer

Post by frijitz » Wed Sep 09, 2009 6:03 pm

I've just posted a little demo on e-m of some interesting new results with the Teezer thru-zero FM VCO. Concerning the possibility of generating Chowning-type dynamically changing periodic waveforms a la DX7. A big problem here has been the dynamic pitch shift caused by imperfect linearity and also the accompanying phase drifts. I am actually finding that a teeny amount of soft sync locks the FM waveforms into periodicity over a very large range of modulation indexes (up to 2200% in the example posted). With very little waveform distortion from the sync. I believe this means that -- with a high-quality VCO -- multi-operator FM patches might actually be feasible in analog. 8_)

Don't make me order two more before I even start on them. :omg:
