Katsuhiro Chiba Classic Synths are some of my favorites for 80's type sounds, especially August. Got some decent presets too.

Any samplers out there that can record audio? Preferably with simpler type features.

The James Holden programmed Humanizer set produces some really pleasing results. Would love to try it out with some Expert Sleepers modular business at some point.

I really like this sequencer - it's a Euclidean one, but implemented in an intuitive way that really suits drums. Stick one of these in front of a drum rack, with maybe an LFO or two, and it's fun all day. This is fun!

Another favourite, Oblique Strategies. Always worth having on a MIDI track in your session, to turn to if you get stuck in a rut.

Big fan of Mono Sequencer, polyrhythmus, Rozzer, dschihadelay, and GrainFreeze, to name a handful.

This is pretty cool, for making oscilloscope music! The makers website has a few cool videos too, worth looking at.

Not sure if it's a mistake but I got this for $0

It's very cool.

I don't think this site has been mentioned:

http://isotonikstudios.com/

I am finding lots of useful tools...like:

http://isotonikstudios.com/erasermice/erasermice-collection/cognition- idea-tools-max4live/

and:

http://isotonikstudios.com/isotonik/modular-series/

Have only begun trying them out, but so far 'conducting' MIDI/Audio lengths and transposition is a hoot smile

A lot of tools on their site I have yet to peruse ;-)

I can attest to the INSANE usability and FSU nature of the Ned Rush stuff on the Isotonik site... bloody LOVE em! Going to sub to his Patreon asap even!
blungo2
Great thread! Lately i've been enjoying Alter Echo and Chaos Tools as well as the aforementioned Outer Spaces.

Another "plug" for K-Devices.
This is a fantastic "CV" style sequencer for any parameter....

there's the Ableton 20% sale going on right now. Any of you guy's favorite M4L devices? Can't decide between the K devices modulators or the Time and Timbre pack.

Anything by Surreal Machines is good. The ones you mention are so different, hard to compare!
rod_zero
I have tried them all (official ones), the ones I keep using are Dub machines effects, which are outstanding.

Given the CPU I find difficult to justify using M4L devices all the time.
Funky40
thanks for the tipps !
allready Much digging Dub Machines on my (ambient) piano play with Pianoteq!

I don't think anyone's mentioned Polyphylla yet... I bought it a few months ago and I'm really enjoying it. Additive synthesis with a (relatively) intuitive way of building sounds. I've found it to be particularly good for foggy, droney textures and shifting not-quite-harmonic clouds of sound.

Also, this is a small but incredibly useful utility if you use Push for live performance: automatically maps the touch strip to Live's crossfader.

Getting a lot of use from K Devices - Autobeat
Also Max For Cats - Drum Articulate is very promising
