does anyone have a copy or link to the Cartesian Sequencer for M4L?

can't find it anywhere online and the links on the guys original website are dead :(

anyone?

I created Xeno Chord Explorer to help find chords that you can play with a single finger. It's free and a lot of fun when randomizing. Drop an arp after this and it just NEVER gets old. smile

I have a writeup about it here:

Thanks w00t

Looking forward to checking this out soon!

+1 for convolution reverb

yep, convolution reverb seems totally awesome. arguably better than some vst plugins.

i also love Cartesian sequencer, m4l clone of Make Noise René. don't have money to buy original hardware unit but playing with this little m4l-device makes me feel fine Dead Banana

Do you still have the m4l clone of rene file?

really pretty amazing how max for live has grown into a big library. so many awesome and useful tools.

this guy's stuff is really interesting and different.. for generating midi clips.. chords, harmonization etc.. intelligent stuff.

the beat stepper parameter locker thing is pretty rad. add parameter locks to ANYTHING

Dub Machines are some really great tape delay + reverb emulations!

Was really blown away by these devices. They are the best tape delay and spring reverb emulations I've ever heard. I suspect I can stop lusting after a Chorus Echo now.

these are great. the little arrow that kicks out the panel for extra functions is essentially a whole other set of FX.. can turn magnetic into something totally different. really awesome.

Loving Dub Machines too, I'm on board with whatever those guys do next.
Here's a great conversation with them on Darwin Grosse's excellent podcast:

ey wiggelors,
here are some patches i use a lot or specifically for their quality:

sometimes the basics are overlooked:

- max overdrive (simple but great)

- max ringmoddual (on drums and percussions modulated with an lfo, together with the overdrive)

- the lfo_one by robert henke (gold)

- max envelope follower (in combination the Silent Way DC, gold)

- the Fader live (can do what utility should do actually, fade to 0db)

- jo.oscilloscope1 (does its job well enough, trigger mode works well in most cases, not so good for analyzing lfo´s though)

so now the fancy stuff:

first things first
- the granulator (it has been mentioned few times, but i can´t stress enough what a gift this is. thanks robert henke. we're not worthy )

- convolution reverb pro (if you haven't tried yet, try to drop some weird samples as IR´s - sometimes boring, sometimes magic)

-polyrhytmus (very unique modular, euclidean sequencer, arpeggio-builder and a lot more... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTgSgTGoBLc)

-ml.px-18 (great sequencer, also from robert henke)

-architect (complex lfo generator, in general the modulators make every assignable instrument so much more powerful, ridiculesly and this one does very good job at that)

-ck.kat.grainfield (granular synthesis based audio-fx, gold)

-grainfreeze (more from robert, you see i´m into granular synthesis)

-black (i´ve seen it been mentioned, but i wanted to say robert henke did it another time. you don´t need the device, but it IS productive to listen in another visual context. close your eyes, watch an aesthetically pleasing video-clip or take a look at your girl/boy/cat while listening to what you´ve been doing for the last hours - this idea is as simple as 4:33 and for us computer musicians just as important)
i want to add that i heard people watch tape machines roll or records spin while listening to their mix. i tried it. it is a nice experiment, maybe a youtube video does the trick too for you.

granulator crashes live 9 everytime I try and run it

I just bought dub machines and ensemble.

Dub machines is probably the best analogue/tape emulation delay I have ever heard. Love it.

Ensemble is really nice, especially the formant filter.
snaper
I'm working on this now...
This will be my fav. grin

Right now its only a personal project grin

M4L stuff at Ableton is on sale!

I just grabbed Oscillot 30% off.
skipperdean
Turing Machine device I found

Edit: another Euclidean Sequencer
Crude
Wow.. i didn't realise people were actually developing tons of synths !
Incoming wave of download smile
Thanks
ignatius
the encoder audio stuff is nice.

just released a 296e for m4L

The LFO.

Yeah, seriously. That one modest device is a powerful tool for Live. I use multiple in every track. Param2Param and ParamMatrix are up there too.

The LFO alone almost makes M4L worth it, insane there isn't just an LFO automation in Ableton but maybe that is just coming from a synthesis background...
spacessound
just reiterating for Hyakken. If anyone has a Jomox airbase 99, you need his controller device. Just makes editing a breeze. Completely opened up that box for me.
mwvm
Is there a midi to cv to use with the ES-3?

The rene device is really good

The zb.random pass, and ONE knob are quite useful. Granulator 2, and of course, Convolution Reverb Pro, especially with things other than reverb impulses loaded into it. Put two or three of those in a row, and drag and drop pads or whatever in there, then put whatever you want through them, look out. Strange and wonderful things can happen. Hell, record the output of the reverbs, and drop them into Granulator.

Also Henke's Formant Filters and Drum plugin are fantastic. Robert's just a genius, in addition to being a fucking cool person, and truly a master musician. Pretty much any talk he gives is worth watching.
Black Medicine
Also, the Skinnerbox Time is a pretty amazing tool, though you have to run Max 6 for it because the current color scheme issues with Max 7 make it nearly unusable.
