Came across this page today, I'm sure a lot of you have seen it before. Pretty sweet...

:tu: cool article - thanks for posting the link, jamb!

 hmm, but no mention of how the 300-series (which i thought had the original borgs) fits in.. interesting!

cheers

To my knowledge the 300 series Borg didn't come to realization until 2001. It was primarily "the filter" that handled all the filtering in the system prior to that. Grant's musicsynthesizer's site is a wealth of knowledge!

Side note I have been compiling Wiard 300 information from every imaginable source online. I hope to have it together in the coming months, if anyone is interested I can pass the info along. Mostly just useful information from the yahoo forum and earlier Wiard.com websites.

A compendium of patches would be great...

btw, here are some recordings of Grant's band F/i that he mentions using the joystick Borg as a "super" waaa with. Not sure if they are still jamming.... good synth solos!

post it! there is some seriously deep info on the old user group and I'm not sure if all users are aware of it.

I haven't been through the old versions of the Wiard sites so I'd be interested to see what you've found.

I assume the Omni came from the Bimorphic filter (first item on this page)

Before you go re-creating the wheel, here is a text file of patches tips, and tricks from the Wiard mailing list, attributions preserved. I keep meaning to go through the Wiard subforum here at Muff's and update it but other priorities have intervened.

I'm compiling more of an archive of Grant's philosophy behind the Wiard 300 and how the modules evolved, not necessarily a manual or how to. While those can be helpful I think it's more important to consider the intent of the design, at the very least it interests me greatly. Eventually I'll compile my patches into an illustrated PDF, it's on my list of things to do.
