Rack Frac

Post by rezzn8r » Wed Oct 21, 2009 9:18 pm

Is a 6U shallow flightcase big enough to house 2 frac racks and a psu?
something like this

or this

Blacet racks? They're about 7" deep, both of those should be enough.

'10" Front rail to back rail rack depth' should be ok to squeeze the PS-500 on the back as well.

Yes. The racks are only about 7 inches deep at most. Idk about psu, depends on which psu you use. The blacet only adds about 3 inches if you mount it to the back of the racks.

eh... he beat me to the punch! and he probably measured!

You can mount the Blacet PSU on the interior of the Frac rack frame if you need to keep the depth down to 7inches,
but that limits your module selection and placement for the few spaces in front of the PSU.

I have the shallow Gator racks and they work splendidly for Frac.

I have Rotorack SKB's. The depth is rediculous but I like the stability and stackability they provide. Right now I've got a 12u 3/4's of the way filled up with a full 6u resting on top. Not too mention an empty 8u(I've sold some things) that's rarin to be filled. :emt:

I try to stay away from Gator cases due to the owner being a bit of douche.
