I unfortunately damaged my HEF4104BP chip - all a part of learning i guess....

wondering if this here: http://de.mouser.com/ProductDetail/NXP-Semiconductors/HEF4104BP652/?qs =sGAEpiMZZMsty6Jaj0%252bBBr%252ba7pY41EA16R%252bh6wjRIak%3d

is the same one?

the N at the end is slightly worrying me... any help would be appreciated!

Nope, that's a surface mount one even though the picture shows a DIP. So don't order one of those.

Oh, yes. They have a bad habit of adding wrong images to products at Mouser.

Always check the description, too.

I have a nice collection of surface mount ICs in my drawer and I fear it just keeps growing. hihi

i have another question re: resistor at R32 and R34

the manual says:

"For +5V gate output (recommended): Make R34 a 10K resistor and omit R32
For +15V gate output: Make R32 a 10K resistor and omit R34."

my whole life i only worked with Midi, and this is my first exposure to CV gates, im not entirely sure which would be the better option and why...

my modules are mainly DotCom modules in MU format, what would be the difference between both and why would someone use a +15v over a +5v ?
