Author Just got my ZI Thyratron Noise Generator Module 5823!!

My spanking new thyratron noise generator from ZI is the shit!!
Received it in no time and considering it had to go through Salvadorean customs officials first, this module got to me lightning fast and super well packed.
I would've had it earlier but I decided to have some fun explaining to the customs officials what it was and what I was planning to use it for hihi At the end I think they just gave up trying to understand and finally released it to me.
I'm close to completing my 10U of ZI built modules and I can't stress how much I love the badass look of it and how well it complements my euro system, it gives it balls!! The build quality is simply superb!

Just over the weekend I was running the noise generator into a wiard boogie filter and using the four pole outputs as my main source for a percussive patch and was surprised by the broad range of sounds I achieved.
I also tried a patch Brian suggested from the beginning which was running the noise generator through the Erebus Orifice CV in and was also impressed by how well all the ZI gear plays well together. Having the noise gen > EO > Destructor Beam > Haxor all patched together we're not worthy SlayerBadger! screaming goo yo SlayerBadger! we're not worthy The more ZI modules I have the more I "understand" Brians vision for his system and I'm extremely glad and honored to be a part of the ride.

Thanks again Brian for these awesome modules and I look forward to future modules currently in the forge!

I'll post some sounds later of the aforementioned badassness Dead Banana

They go in a dotcom cabinet and powered by the dotcom distribution system,
but I have a hard time saying "MU" lol
Certainly not trying to emulate the Moog here, but I do think they play well together. w00t

The euro power distribution "standards" are all over the place, so I choose to stay away from building for that format.

(hides)

I do like to play with euro modules though. smile

Incoming transmission!

Lazar = first time fooling around with the 5823, had it going into EO CV input and then a Noisering going into the EO main input

Nogopec = 5823 into Boogie filter then distributed all over the eurorack in a percussive patch.

Sionego = Similar patch as before, now with Hertz Donut Mkii in the party

Awesome sounds dude! It's inspiring to hear your fun journeys.
Sionego sounds like this>> Jedi

Try this:
5823 Noise Generator audio out into Erebus Orifice audio input,
Erebus Orifice audio output into Haxor audio input II,
Noise Ring clock output into Haxor CV for percussive gating sputters,
Noise Ring CV out into Erebus Orifice CV input.
Twiddle that for a little bit, then feed something into Haxor audio input I.

I need to try some variations of that patch with the JAG involved.
