Does anyone remember this old, freeware PC app?

Post by el clon » Thu May 08, 2008 1:35 pm

back in 2001 or so i found this free stand-alone PC thing that scanned yr drive and randomly played back all of the audio files at various reduced bitrates, in reverse, slowed down, etc.

it allowed you to play up to five overlapping streams at one. i think the only controls were buttons to mute/activate the five channels.. anybody remember the name of this thing? i searched a big music freeware archive and didn't see it. but, of course, i can't remember the name, so...

i remember it being crashy on win98, too. it stopped working after about a month and i could never get it going again. i never recorded it so i wanted to give it another try...

that looks great! big thanks for that... god, there's so much amazing, free software out there.

i just looked around and couldn't find it, but ended up at Leafcutter John's website. he has a newer program called Forester that seems to fuck up both cds and harddrive audio files... and it works on newer-model Macs. perfect!
