The silver stand in these pictures:

I need exactly that. Anyone know who makes/sells them, or was it a custom deal?

That was the Ultimate Support 3-tier A-frame, or something like that. Not sure if the still make them. I'll see if I can look it up.

If it is US, which it may well be the connectors are totally different then all the stuff I have.

They're out of production, but here is one on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ULTIMATE-SUPPORT-SYSTEM-3-TIER-KEYBOARD-STAND_W0QQ itemZ370285145905QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5636b6 ef31#ht_1649wt_1140

The design is somewhat modular itself, by the way. They used to sell the parts so you could customize your own stand--more supports for a row of drum machines up top, or you could add short bars to support a drum machine or sampler to the side if you wanted (though you probably would have to cut a bar down to customize it like that). They are like Tinker Toys.

Which is to say that if you get one, you might be able to shake the tree at AH or the like and get a few extra parts, too. I have a few extra sets of brackets myself, though I will probably hang on to them for future use. I'm sure the parts must be available in some other form, as the bars are a standard pipe-and-drape size.

They are great stands, though. A sturdy design, and space-saving, too.

Cheers,
Brian

Oh, you're right. The bars almost look like a different shape, too. And it narrower, though it could have been cut down for use with those devices.

Here are a couple of others I found searching for "a-frame keyboard stand:"

I'm going to guess that the one you are looking at may have had some modifications made. I didn't even notice its width initially.

Cheers,
Brian

While I don't have that stand in particular, the On Stage stuff I have seems well built.

Jaspers makes stands like these. A little pricey but worth every penny.

A while back, someone auctioned off a stand by that company. Seller claimed it was an $800 stand. The black ends and black sides are solid aluminum, micro adjustable, and super heavy duty. Was a high end studio in L.A. Can't recall, but I thought they were not made anymore and from the 80's? The auction had some close-ups of the adjuster mechanism, top of the line, all metal construction, and nothing similar to the Ultimate other than using tubing. The stand was made so a keyboard would not fall off, like on an Ultimate.
Good luck on your search, someone knows the company that made these.

Boy, the more I look at that photo, the more I see how clueless my post was. That thing is way different/cooler than the US stuff. The one from that jaspers link looks pretty awesome. They show a CRT TV and video equipment mounted on it in one of the photos. Can't imagine what the shipping to the US might be, though.

Cheers,
Brian

Shipping shouldn't be to expensive because you need to build it like an ikea thing.
And it's super leight weighted aluminium.

Those must be 4 foot poles, though. The package dimensions might be a bigger issue than weight.
mono-poly
Yeah but i think most time you pay for the weight not the size really.
Mr White

many thanks for the suggerstions, that Jaspers C4 seems perfect for my MD, MM, XT, Evo combo, maybe I'll give it a try!

Size matters as it will mean bigger packages will take up space for other packages that could of been sent on the same truck and/or plane. Weight matters for fuel reasons. As far as labor goes those guys get paid the same no matter the package. These stands are light though and come collapsed in rods. Lot cheaper then shipping steel stands.

I could swear I made more than my first post in this thread. Are posts vanishing, or am I losing my mind?

Haven't seen any others, and I've been on this thread a lot for some reason. Maybe you're having dreams about posting on Muff's? Mr. Green

I am pretty sure TNT post only cares about the weight not the size.
Same goes for USPS i think.

I think Fedex cares about the size. They did when I worked for them back in college. Could be different now. Unsure as I DON'T use them for shipping after my experience working there. Sitting on your modules sounds pretty good compared to what it goes through with Fedex.
bwhittington
USPS has a significantly higher fee structure once a package exceeds a certain dimensional weight.

This is not exactly the same product, but it is quite similar. I came upon it when sifting through some old pdf's. It's from the 2008 "Jamstands" line by Ultimate Support.

I've got a Jaspers stand. I've had it for about a year and it is really solid.
