MiniWave MiniROM PPG V3

Post by retrosynth » Sun Oct 27, 2013 7:18 pm

First off, three years ago I had a stroke and I have to relearn the alphabet as well as reading and spelling. I still can't write it (other than 800 words) but at least the iPad is working.

Okay, I need a count of the MiniROM PPG V3 and interest. If enough is interest I'll get the boards made. I cannot do the soldering myself anymore so it will be out sourced. The kit is $75 each plus shipping.

Cool that you're taking it up again!

Can these also be installed in a Wiard Waveform City without irreversible modifications to the module itself?

Just wondering since you're posting in the Frac subforum only, but not in the Wiard subforum.

If it's possible, I would like two.

If not, I would like one.

That link is broken. This works.

I don't understand how one acesses the 32 Banks and 64 Waves as the Mini Wave only selects 16 x 16. Am I missing something?

The website says the rom also would work on a Wiard WFC. Could someone please explain this to me? If this was doable, I would be very interested.

Why shouldn't it work? The Bank and Wave knobs are just plain analog continuous pots, not quantized for 16 steps. The addressing is done in the circuit.

As for the Wiard WFC, I recall that there were a very few, perhaps a couple only custom modified units that could accommodate the MiniRom directly onboard (it's quite tight inside the PCB enclosure as the analog VCO/ VCA/ AR section and the waveshaper are on two separate boards). As I said I'd definitely buy two MiniRoms if there's an easy way to accommodate them (if the enclosure needs to remain opened, that would be ok as the module is in a rack anyway).
