Grayscale Algorhythm: Polyrhythm firmware + black panel

Post by sempervirent » Thu Dec 05, 2013 4:35 pm

Update, 2016-05-09: A new/alternate firmware for Algorhythm is available which does 8 simultaneous channels with various link/mute/randomization options. A PIC programming device (ICD or PICKit) is needed for making updates. Full documentation and upgrade instructions can be found on Github:
github.com/grayscalemodular/modules/tree/master/Eurorack/Algorhythm

Original post follows:

Algorhythm is an 8-step pulse sequencer. Along with the primary pattern output, there are outputs for each step. Modules can be connected in series to create longer patterns. Within each module, pattern length can be adjusted from 1-8 steps, and this feature works as a probability controller in random mode. There are other settings like being able to switch between gate/trig for each output, along with setting the number of loop repeats before playback ends. Check the manual for full details.

Binary is an OR/NOR logic module with six inputs and one switchable output. Each input has its own "mute" switch, which illuminates in response to input signals.

These are on ModularGrid too:

At last, a module that no one will ask for a Grayscale panel for! :hihi:

Seriously, what is it though?

Congrats Wes!

Looking forward to the progress....
You have 3 in a row in your avatar.
Can we get a video of that?
:hihi:

It looks like there is only one stackable in the video but the question is whether it is driving or being driven.
I could not tell whether each address/stage was actually "sounding" off something (If there were parts we were not hearing) but it was definitely synced and running/being driven at audio rates...

4 rows of jacks....one for each input/output LED plus additional row of CV options (and ins/outs based on whatever previous jacks are).....

Same here, I tried combinations of other modules that do similar things but could not find one that did exactly what I wanted.
